KATHMANDU, July 24: The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office of Nepal Police has arrested two people on the charge of duping more than a dozen people, with the promise to help them pass driving license trials and get a driving license.
Raju Pariyar of Lalitpur and Brahma Risal of Kathmandu were arrested on the charge of cheating people by claiming to be employees of the Transport Management Office, Ekantakuna, and promising to help them in acquiring driving licenses, passing trials, and passing pollution tests.

The police said that they were arrested on the basis of more than a dozen complaints, including from Mikmar Tamang, Sunil Maharjan, Lila Dhar Giri, Krishna Lal Moktan, Samir Bhattarai, Bishal Bishwakarma, Sanu Kancha Tamang and Arjun Budha Magar.
According to sources, Pariyar who forcibly took gold jewelry (golden ring) from the victims and defrauded an amount equal to Rs 430,000 has been arrested along with Brahma Risal, owner of the Krishna Jewelers, who bought the gold.
Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi said that Risal who melted the golden ring to 11.680 grams of gold had been sent to the District Police Range, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. He said that an investigation is underway.
