20-year-old arrested for swindling 1.5 million in a foreign employment scam

KATHMANDU, May 12: Police arrested 20-year-old Srijan Niraula for swindling 12 people out of Rs 1.5 million.

KATHMANDU, May 12: Police arrested 20-year-old Srijan Niraula for swindling 12 people out of Rs 1.5 million.


Niraula, currently residing in Kathmandu's New Baneshwor, with a permanent residence in Jhapa's Bahradashi Municipality 6, allegedly promised to send victims to Singapore and secure them jobs at a reputable hotel.

Acting on a tip-off from the Foreign Employment Department, the Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Niraula from Sinamangal in Kathmandu on Wednesday night.


The accused has been taken to the Foreign Employment Department in Buddhanagar for further  investigation.
