Two arrested for swindling foreign job aspirants out of Rs 8 million

KATHMANDU, April 30: Police have arrested two persons on the charge of swindling foreign job aspirants out of eight million rupees, promising them employment in Slovakia and the United States of America.

KATHMANDU, April 30: Police have arrested two persons on the charge of swindling foreign job aspirants out of eight million rupees, promising them employment in Slovakia and the United States of America.


Those arrested in this connection are Sandhya Lama Budhamagar of Puthauttarganga Rural Municipality-11 in Rukum West, currently living in Tarakeswar Municipality-10 of Kathmandu, and Udim Bahadur Pun of Mangala Rural Municipality-2 in Myagdi district, currently living in Nakhipot of Lalitpur metropolis, according to spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rabindra Regmi.

SP Regmi shared that Sandhya had fleeced the foreign job aspirants of Rs 200,000 giving false assurance of sending them to Slovakia while Udim had taken Rs 7.8 million promising to send them to the USA.  The two were arrested based on complaints. Police would carry out further investigation against them and they have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment for necessary action, he added.
