NMPA withdraws its decision to close film halls on September 12

Nepal Motion Picture Association (NMPA) has withdrawn its decision to close cinema halls across the country on September 12, Monday. An agreement was reached not to close down the cinema halls after discussions with the Nepal Film Producers Association (NFPA) on Friday.

Nepal Motion Picture Association (NMPA) has withdrawn its decision to close cinema halls across the country on September 12, Monday. An agreement was reached not to close down the cinema halls after discussions with the Nepal Film Producers Association (NFPA) on Friday.

Issuing a press release on Friday, the NMPA said that it has been decided to form a negotiation committee under the leadership of the general secretaries of both the associations as well as continue to cooperate and restrain their members in the bilateral talks held at the Bishalnagar branch of NMPA.


Earlier, the NMPA decided to close cinema halls across the country on Monday as a symbolic protest against the baseless allegation made against its members along with NFPA’s decision to open cinema halls only on Friday.
