KATHMANDU, Dec 3: US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu, is arriving in Nepal as a part of his three-nation visit to South Asia.

In India, Lu will support the U.S.-India collaboration by joining Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink and lead the U.S.-India East Asia Consultations.
On December 5, Lu will travel to Sri Lanka to advance efforts for sustainable economic growth, anti-corruption measures, and people-to-people ties, meeting with senior officials and civil society representatives.
Lu will conclude his trip in Nepal, engaging with senior leaders on environmental protection, women's empowerment and sustainable development, while also emphasizing the importance of cultural preservation.
Lu will meet with youth leaders to gain insights into their vision for the future of the US-Nepal relations. Additionally, discussions will emphasize the importance of cultural preservation, recognizing Nepal’s rich heritage as a cornerstone of its identity and a key driver of its tourism and economy.
