KATHMANDU, Dec 3: The Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balendra Shah (Balen) administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-elected chairperson of Ward 16 of KMC, Rojina Shrestha.
Mayor Balen administered the oath to Shrestha amid an event held on Tuesday. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol, among others, and during the event, Shrestha was congratulated and wished success for her tenure.

A by-election was held on Sunday in Ward-16 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City following the death of Ward Chairperson Mukunda Rijal. In the by-election, Shrestha emerged victorious, defeating candidates from the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML.
