Prof Subedi bags prestigious Oxford University award

KATHMANDU, July 5: Surya Prasad Subedi, a professor of international law at the University of Leeds, has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Civil Law (DCL) by the University of Oxford.

KATHMANDU, July 5: Surya Prasad Subedi, a professor of international law at the University of Leeds, has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Civil Law (DCL) by the University of Oxford.


The university conferred the award on him recognizing his significant academic contributions to the study of law. It is considered as the prestigious and highest degree of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

The Oxford DCL is conferred upon those who have original publications with global influence to their credit. Professor Subedi had obtained his Ph.D. in Law (known as DPhil at Oxford) in 1993.
