KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who reached Beijing for a four-day visit, is scheduled to hold high-level meetings today. He is set to hold a meeting with the Chinese President, the Prime Minister, and the Chairperson of the Chinese National People's Congress.
Prime Minister Oli will first hold talks with his Chinese counterpart, Li Keqiang. This will be followed by a meeting with Zhao Leji, the Chairperson of the Chinese National People’s Congress.
After these separate meetings, he is scheduled to meet with President Xi Jinping. Following the meetings at the "Great Hall of the People," agreements on bilateral cooperation and other matters will be signed.
China, Japan sign agreements to strengthen cooperation
The Chinese leadership will welcome Prime Minister Oli with a "Guard of Honor" from the People's Liberation Army at the Great Hall of the People.
Prime Minister Oli departed for China on Monday at the friendly invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. During the visit, Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to give a speech at Peking University on Wednesday and address the Nepal-China Business Forum.
After completing all the programs, the delegation led by Prime Minister Oli will return to Nepal on December 5. Prime Minister Oli reached Beijing on Monday for a four-day visit. He was welcomed at Beijing's Capital International Airport by Sun Weidong, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Chinese Communist Party.
Accompanying Prime Minister Oli are his wife Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimala, Economic and Development Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Yuvaraj Khatiwada, members of parliament, senior government officials, representatives from the private sector, and media personnel.
