KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his commitment to develop Tilganga Eye Hospital into a university.
Prime Minister Dahal expressed such commitment during a meeting with the Director of Tilganga Eye Center, Dr Sanduk Ruit, on Saturday. “I am very positive about developing Tilganga Hospital into a university and necessary policy reforms will be taken in this regard,” the prime minister said.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Dahal also congratulated Dr Ruit for being honored with the 'Isa Award for services to humanity' by the Government of Bahrain for his humanitarian services and said that this honor has made Nepal very proud.
"This award has enhanced the respect of the country. It has given a message that Nepal has skilled human resources of international level," he said, "The recognition of your contribution to humanitarian services is an honor of the country." Prime Minister Dahal also expressed his commitment to providing all other necessary support from the government for eye treatment.
During the meeting, Dr Ruit said that Nepal has done some exemplary work in the field of eye treatment and shared about the possibility of producing the medicine for cataract treatment in Nepal itself.
