KATHMANDU, April 24: Nepal Republic Media Pvt Ltd has entered into the ninth year of its establishment. The NRM, the leading publication house in Nepal, celebrated its eighth anniversary in the capital on Monday amidst a ceremony. The NRM had started its publication eight years ago coinciding with the Democracy Day (Loktantra Diwas) by publishing Nagarik and Republica dailies.
The NRM is honoring 12 individuals including actors Sitaram Kattel aka Dhurmus and Kunjana Ghimire aka Suntali as well as social worker Pasang Sherpa and cooperative activist Phul Kumari Yonjan Shrestha with Nagarik Nayak Award. During the anniversary ceremony, the four had shared their experiences of putting up efforts for social changes from the level of a citizen.
NRM eighth anniversary celebration
Speaking on the occasion, the NRM"s Director Shova Gyawali said that the publication move ahead starting right after the country entered into the peace process following a decade long armed conflict.
She said that the NRM management is dedicating itself in turning up the company into a 'happy organization' from the synergy of efforts of management and all the staffers.
On the occasion Nepal Republic Media honored five journalists and staffers associated with it with best performance award on Monday on the occasion of its eighth anniversary.
The awardees include Republica Desk Chief Dilip Dhakal, Jhapa district correspondent Raju Adhikari, Designer Arbinda Man Singh, Shyam Acharya from Finance Department and Bishnu Ram Ghimire from Marketing Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagarik Editor-in-Chief Gunaraj Luitel, Republica Editor Subhash Ghimire and Shukrabar Editor Rajan Nepal expressed thier joys over the expansion of the Nepal Republic Media.
Likewise, speaking at the same ocassion, Corporate Advisor of the NRM Sohan Shrestha announced that the Nepal Republic Media will be the largest media network of the country after starting own press at Pokhara and Butwal.
NRM already has the press at Kathmandu, Biratnagar and Nepalgunj.
