Inspector Umesh Mahato of Katari said that the garbage pickers, who were assigned to separate the waste from the dumping site, found the body of the newborn while separating the waste.

According to Mahato, the incident was confirmed when a team was sent after the information was received from locals. According to the police, it can be assumed that the baby's body was dumped several days ago as it had begun to decompose.

The police have sent the body to Katari Hospital and started an investigation. Chief Gaurav Shah of Katari Hospital said that the body of the infant was found in the garbage and the police sent it to the hospital but did not order an autopsy.
