KATHMANDU, May 18: There are a total of 39,305 active cases of the coronavirus disease in the Kathmandu Valley alone. This accounts for 34.31 percent of the active cases reported from across the country as of Tuesday afternoon, the health ministry said.
COVID-19 in Nepal: Active cases down by 30 percent
As many as 1,791 people from the three districts of the Valley, where Nepal’s central capital lies, have so far succumbed to the disease. Of the total deaths reported from the Valley, Kathmandu district alone witnessed 1,228 deaths, Lalitpur 232 and Bhaktapur 240.
Meanwhile, the Valley confirmed as many as 2,635 new cases on Tuesday.
