Indigenous nationalities to support VNY

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) and associations affiliated have decided to participate in the inauguration of Visit Nepal Year (VNY) 2020 at Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday showcasing their respective ethnic identity.

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) and associations affiliated have decided to participate in the inauguration of Visit Nepal Year (VNY) 2020 at Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday showcasing their respective ethnic identity.


As many as 59 associations affiliated to the federation have expressed commitment to actively support the yearlong tourism promotional campaign, a statement issued by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation issued on Sunday said.

According to the statement, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai, held a meeting with office-bearers of the federation at the ministry on Sunday. Speaking at the meeting, he requested all indigenous nationalities for their active participation to support VNY 2020.


Also speaking at the meeting, Jagat Baram, chairman of the federation, assured active participation of indigenous nationalities to make VNY 2020 a grand success. Stating that the main base of Nepal's tourism is nature and culture, Baram said rich culture and tradition of various ethnic groups and indigenous nationalities can help attract more tourists to the country.


He also said that the federation and its units across the country as well as in foreign countries will involve actively in VNY 2020.
