Canopy Zipline commences its operation at Chobar

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The Canopy Zipline has commenced operations at Manjushree Park in Chobhar, Kathmandu. The total length of the zipline, divided into three stages, spans approximately 400 meters, and the entire experience takes about 10 minutes.

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The Canopy Zipline has commenced operations at Manjushree Park in Chobhar, Kathmandu. The total length of the zipline, divided into three stages, spans approximately 400 meters, and the entire experience takes about 10 minutes.


The first stage is named 'Adventure,' the second stage is 'Dare Devils,' and the third stage is called 'The Fun,' reflecting the varying experiences offered by each section of the zipline.

Nepali actress Barsha Raut inaugurated the zipline on Saturday and shared her unique and interesting experience with the three-stage adventure. Throughout the zipline journey, participants can enjoy scenic views of the Chobhar gorge, Manjushree's cut, Jalbinayak temple, Chobhar monastery, the newly-constructed dry port, Champadevi and Chandragiri hills, as well as Kathmandu and Lalitpur. The take-off tower also provides a stunning view of a beautiful mountain range.


Panchalal Maharjan, the director of JB Adventure Pvt. Ltd, the company behind the zipline, stated that they received approval from the Department of Tourism and the local level government before initiating operations. The zipline is capable of hosting 300 to 350 participants daily, operating from 10 AM to 5:30 PM, with a weight limit of 100 kg for participants.


The company is offering a complete zipline package at Rs 1,200 per person for a limited time. Alternatively, participants can opt for a single stage at Rs 500. Tandem (couple) zipline adventures are available for Rs 1,500. Students with valid IDs and residents of Ward No. 6 of Kirtipur Municipality will enjoy a 25 percent discount on all zipline options.
