KATHMANDU, July 28: The University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, USA, and rem.work, Kathmandu, Nepal, have forged a Global Campus coworking space partnership to help students start or continue a U.S. degree without leaving their home country.

With this partnership, students apply to and are admitted to the University of Arizona, receive a University of Arizona transcript for courses taken in global campus degree programs, and have the option to continue their education at the University of Arizona or any other U.S. university.

Students can choose from two options to start or continue a U.S. degree from the University of Arizona. They can either complete a full U.S. undergraduate degree, graduate degree or graduate certificate online with complete access to the all rem.work facilities or enroll in a pathway program of online courses to prepare for virtually any major and for eventual study in the U.S.

Both programs include online tutoring and academic support through the University of Arizona. The rem.work will provide access to their coworking locations, where Global Campus students will find a safe place to work and study without distractions, with comfortable chairs, tables and desks, reliable high-speed internet, and spaces for collaboration and group work. Global Campus students may participate in all onsite and offsite events hosted by the rem.work.

“Not only does Global Campus help solve the mobility challenges of today caused by COVID-19, it is a meaningful and long-term effort at meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goal of providing accessible quality education to the world,” a statement issued on Monday quoted University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins as saying.

A leading coworking space provider in Nepal, rem.work—with three locations in Kathmandu—has created flexible and affordable options with the University of Arizona to allow students to earn a full U.S. degree – or U.S. transfer credits, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.

As universities have increasingly pivoted to offer online learning modalities, coworking spaces have become a pioneering point of access for University of Arizona global campus degree programs. “Enrolling in the University of Arizona through a coworking partner is attractive to mid-career and working professionals looking to up-skill, re-skill, or start a master’s program in a safe and professional setting, with access to reliable internet and leading-edge amenities. rem.work coworking spaces offer unique opportunities for students to network and collaborate,” said the statement.
