KATHMANDU, May 3: Urban Development Minister Ram Kumari Jhakri has said that she is serious about solving the problems of construction entrepreneurs. Stating that the construction sector has become chaotic, Minister Jhakri said that initiatives will be taken to address the valid demands of the entrepreneurs.
During a meeting with a delegation of the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN) on Monday, Minister Jhakri said that she would take initiatives for coordination with other ministries as well. She said, "We are serious about solving the problems of construction entrepreneurs. Let's take initiatives to solve the problems in a positive way and not stop the construction works.”

She said that there was no problem in extending the deadline of big projects, however, extending the deadline of small projects would create confusion about the new program. President of the FCAN, Rabi Singh, said that they were excited about the positive response given by Minister Jhakri.
He also urged to take initiative for coordination with other ministries. President Singh stressed the need for adjusting the price hike of construction materials as well.
