KATHMANDU, Feb 3: Industrialist Arun Chaudhary and Ajit Man Singh Thapa, the then CEO of the Bansbari Leather and Shoes Factory, who were arrested on Thursday in a land scam case, have been admitted to the hospital. They were admitted to the hospital late on Thursday.

After being arrested, these people suddenly fell ill and were admitted to the hospital. They were admitted to Chirayu Hospital in Basundhara as Thapa was reportedly suffering from heart problems and Chaudhary was suffering from sugar and pressure-related problems.

The Kathmandu District Court (KDC) has granted permission to authorities to detain them for four days and investigate but that is not likely to happen due to the dramatic twist within hours after their arrest. Arun Chaudhary and Ajitman Singh Thapa are the latest in the list of high-profile suspects who have been admitted to the hospital after their arrest.

Even before this, there were many cases where the accused in various cases and scandals were admitted to the hospital after being arrested. Most of them were ordered to be detained and investigated by the court. However, after they were arrested, they fell ill and were admitted to the hospital. In general, these people who were arrested pretended to be ill to evade detention.

Details of persons arrested in previous cases and were admitted to hospitals are as follows:
