Three arrested on the charge of rape in Bajura

BAJURA, June 15: Police have arrested three people in Bajura on the charge of rape and atempted in a period of one month. Three cases have been registered at the District Police Office, Bajura in the Nepali month of Jyestha itself. Of them, two are accused of rape and one is accused of attempted rape.

BAJURA, June 15: Police have arrested three people in Bajura on the charge of rape and atempted in a period of one month. Three cases have been registered at the District Police Office, Bajura in the Nepali month of Jyestha itself. Of them, two are accused of rape and one is accused of attempted rape.


Police have arrested Harka Bahadur Dani, 18, of Badimalika Municipality-1 on the charge of attempt to rape. Dani was arrested on June 8. Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Thapa said that Dani was arrested on the basis of a complaint that he was trying to rape the victim while following her on her way home from Bajura district headquarters Martadi.

Likewise, Indra Bahadur Thapa, 33, of Tampra in Budhiganga Municipality-2 has been arrested on the charge of committing rape. Thapa, who entered the victim’s room forcefully through the window and raped her on the night of June 8, was arrested on June 9.  


Similarly, a person of Gaumul village has also been arrested on the charge of rape. According to DSP Thapa, an investigation is being carried out against him after receiving an order for the same by the district court after taking him under control from his house. Both the victim and the perpetrator are under 16 years of age. Recently, there has been a significant increase in the number of rape cases in Bajura.
