TAPLEJUNG, June 18: In the search operation conducted in Ward No-6 Mehele of Sidingwa Rural Municipality of Taplejung district, the dead body of 30 year old Ganesh Tamang, who was among the missing, has been recovered.
Local Rajesh Kadel informed about the recovery of the dead body among the four missing individuals. Chief of the District Police Office of Taplejung, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajan Limbu, informed Republica that 63-year-old Bhagimaya Budha Chhetri, her daughter-in-law 30-year-old Sandhya and 9-year-old grandson Prajwal of Mehele are still missing and the search and rescue work for them is going on.

According to the spokesperson and information officer of the District Police Office, Taplejung, Kusharam Karki, the search operation revealed that the bodies found in the landslide belonged to Yadav Budha Kshetri and Ram Bahadur Tamang. Yadab Budha Kshetri was reported to have visited the house of his sister-in-law in Pedang of Sirijanga Rural Municipality Ward No-5.
The landslide swept away Yadav's wife, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter who were staying at home. Similarly, when ensuring the safety of the elderly couple, Gopal, was also swept by the landslide. According to the District Police Office, the landslide caused extensive damage, completely destroying four houses belonging to Maheshwar Selin, Prem Selin, Dilli Selin, and Naresh Selin, located in Ward No 3, Aankhop Ilabote of Siddhinga Rural Municipality.
The landslide that occurred from the Sadakuti Danda in Mehale has put approximately 20 households at risk, as informed by the police. Some livestock have also been swept away, and the police have provided information regarding the complete details of the incident and the ongoing rescue efforts.
