KATHMANDU, August 16: The first general assembly and convention of the Society of Infrastructure Journalist Nepal has elected a new executive committee of 11 members under the chairmanship of Jeevan Kumar Basnet. The first general assembly and convention of the organization held on Tuesday unanimously elected a new executive committee.
Chairman Basnet is executive at Nepal Infrastructure.com. Sunita Karki, who works at Annapurna Post, is the vice-chairperson in the new executive committee, and Himal Lamsal, who works at Nagarik Daily, is the secretary. Similarly, Hima BK, who works for Aarthik Abhiyan Daily, and Dinesh Khadka, who works for Bizmandu.com, were unanimously elected as joint secretaries.

Similarly, the newly elected members include Bimal Khatiwada working at Kantipur daily, Dipendra Thapa working at Karobar daily, Sanchita Ghimire working at the Rastriya Samachar Samiti. Similarly, the other members are Prashan Dhungana working at Artha Television, Bishnu Pariyar working at Purvadhar Paribesh program broadcast by Nepal Television and Sharmila Neupane working at Capital Nepal.com.
The newly-elected chairman Basnet said that the committee will advance the work of improving the capacity of infrastructure journalist. He said, "We will draw the attention of the authorities concerned for the infrastructure planning and program implementation."
