Renewable energy technology to be extended in rural areas: Minister Chaudhary

LALITPUR, Nov 4: Minister for Population and Environment Mithila Chaudhary has stressed on extending the access to renewable energy technology to the public in rural areas.  Speaking at the 21st anniversary function of the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre here today, Minister Chaudhary shared that Nepal was receiving support for the promotion of renewable energy technology from international community as Nepal has ratified various treaties relating to it.

LALITPUR, Nov 4: Minister for Population and Environment Mithila Chaudhary has stressed on extending the access to renewable energy technology to the public in rural areas. 

Speaking at the 21st anniversary function of the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre here today, Minister Chaudhary shared that Nepal was receiving support for the promotion of renewable energy technology from international community as Nepal has ratified various treaties relating to it. 

Similarly, Secretary Dr Bishwanath Oli shared that the Ministry was forwarding to develop the renewable energy policy in federal provincial and local levels. 

AEPC Executive Director Ram Prasad Dhital shared that only 16 per cent people had the access to alternative energy across the country and it should be expanded soon. 



On the occasion, Manchu Memorial Trust coordinator Tumil Kumar Shrestha announced the establishment of 'Suprabit Memorable Renewable Energy Award' in memory of his late son. The award carries a purse of Rs 25,000. RSS
