NIFA hands over relief materials worth Rs one million for Balkhu flood victims

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Nepal-India Friendship Association (NIFA) has handed relief materials worth Rs 1 million for the Balkhu flood victims in Kathmandu. NIFA conducted an event on Thursday where it handed over the relief materials for the flood victims in Balkhu through the Nepal Medical Association (NMA).

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Nepal-India Friendship Association (NIFA) has handed relief materials worth Rs 1 million for the Balkhu flood victims in Kathmandu. NIFA conducted an event on Thursday where it handed over the relief materials for the flood victims in Balkhu through the Nepal Medical Association (NMA).


Januka Karki Giri,  chairperson of NIFA, said that the association provided the relief materials upon the request of NMA, given the significant damage caused by the floods in the Balkhu area. She also urged relief be provided to the actual victims. Relief materials include food items, medicines, blankets, and various multi-purpose materials.

On the occasion, Dr Anil Bikram Karki, president of the NMA, said that they will distribute relief alongside health services in the Balkhu area. He further informed that they will go there within two days with a medical camp to distribute the relief.


NIFA Chairperson Giri pledged to continue to provide such assistance during disasters in the future.
