KATHMANDU, July 16: The Executive Committee members of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) led by President Shreejana Rana paid courtesy call to newly- appointed Ambassador of India to Nepal Naveen Srivastava on Friday at Ambassador’s Office in Kathmandu.
During the welcome of Ambassador Srivastava, President of NICCI Rana discussed NICCI’s contribution to development of Nepal-India Bilateral trade, transit, investment, energy and tourism in the last 30 years. While stating that NICCI will remain pro-active for bilateral developments, Rana asked for the continuation of the support from Ambassador and the Embassy.
The delegation also informed the Ambassador Srivastava on the activities carried out by the NICCI and also discussed the planed programs of the chamber like Partnership Summit, Energy Summit etc. for the upcoming year during the courtesy call and request the embassy for the active support.

NICCI President Rana also touched upon the importance of bilateral tourism. She briefed Ambassador Srivastava about two Nepal-India Bilateral Tourism Promotion Joint Working Group that has taken place in the last few years.
She also requested for support of the Embassy of India as in the past for the third meeting of the Tourism Joint Working Group to be held in India as the meeting takes place alternatively in India and Nepal in every two years and the third meeting is supposed to be hosted by India this time.
On the occasion, Ambassador Srivastava appreciated the works done by NICCI and thanked NICCI team for the visit. He informed that India has always been supporting in the development of Nepal and so continues to support in overall development of Nepal today as well.
Ambassador Srivastava expressed his assurance to support towards NICCI’s activities for enhancing Nepal-India bilateral trade, transit, investment and overall economic relation in the days ahead and eager to work together.
