BHARATPUR (Chitwan), Nov 14: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has distributed blankets to the Chepang community.
Sixteen Chepang families of Sapreni of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-1 have been provided with two blankets each.
At a program organized on Monday, Minister Kirati shared that he supported the Chepang community from the amount he had received from the sale of his book, adding it was necessary to protect the language and culture of Chepang.

The government would give special priority for the protection of the language and culture of marginalized communities, he mentioned.
On the occasion, Minister Kirati honored Bhote Bahadur Chepang and Babari Chepang with Rs 5,000 each for their contribution to protect the Chepang culture.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, Dan Bahadur Chepang, briefed Minister Kirati about the condition of the Chepang community and tourism prospects in the rural municipality.
He also said that a tourism package will be introduced targeting the Chepang community of Ichchhakamana. Minister Kirati also played Deusi Bhailo with the Chepang community.
