DANG, June 24: Three months after the formation of the provincial assembly in Province 5, lawmakers of the province are yet to get their badge, which is often considered as their identity.
The lack of ‘badge’ has posed a serious problem for the parliamentarians especially while attending programs, seminars or even while entering the parliament building.
Whose president, anyway?
This is the reason why they have been raising their voice for the arrangement of badge as soon as possible. According to parliamentarian Indrajit Chaudhary, the badge must be distributed soon as it is their identity.
“We always have to fear that we might be obstructed by the guards while entering the parliament building,” he said, adding, “It is difficult for the guards to recognize us unless we have a separate badge that reflects our identity.”
There are altogether 86 parliamentarians in Province 5. Another parliamentarian Amar Bahadur Dangi also has to go through the same problems in the absence of logo.
“We often have to catch the meetings in a rush due to vehicular obstruction or lengthy traffic checking,” he said, adding, “If we had a badge of our own, at least we wouldn’t have to introduce ourselves to anyone.”
Reportedly, the provincial assembly has prepared the draft of uniform and badge for the parliamentarians.
