KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has hosted a tea reception on Saturday in the capital on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, Deepawali, Nepal Sambat and Chhath festivals.
The party had invited over 50,000 people for the event being held from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Bhrikutimandap, according to NCP leaders. However, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli missed the event on health ground.
Lack of conservation area for rare tea plant
VIPs including politicians from various parties, ministers, high-ranking government officials, representatives from the Kathmandu-based diplomatic fraternity, party cadres and public among others attended the party.
The NCP is organizing the tea reception for the first time seven months after the two communist parties Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Leninist) and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) merged and launched the new communist party.
