KATHMANDU, Nov 28: Arguing that the political paper presented earlier by Executive Chairman Dahal was against the principle and values of the communist party, Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) K P Oli, who is also the prime minister, has demanded scrapping the political paper presented earlier by Dahal in the party’s Secretariat meeting.

In his 38-page long response to what he described as an ‘allegation paper’, Chairman Oli has challenged Executive Chairman Dahal to either prove his allegations and take action against him as per the existing laws of the country and the party’s statute or take accountability of his ill-attempt to break the party unity.

“I have a challenge for you. Either prove your allegation and take action against me on the basis of existing laws of the country and the party’s statute or be ready to take accountability of the ill-attempt to break the party unity by making baseless allegations against own colleague,” Prime Minister Oli said in his political paper presented in the Secretariat meeting on Friday.

While referring to the demand raised by Dahal to ‘make a sacrifice’, Prime Minister Oli has expressed his desire to hand over the leadership of the unified party to the second generation leader and take retirement from active politics. “You have repeatedly demanded sacrifice from me. I have formally informed in the Standing Committee meeting that I will not be in the responsibility of party chairman after the upcoming convention of the party and the prime minister after the next election. What other sacrifices do I have to make?” Oli has asked in an apparent response to Dahal’s demand to make a sacrifice.

Chairman Oli has also expressed surprise over repeated attempts to change the party’s leadership instead of waiting for the party’s general convention that is due to take place in the next three-four months. “But I have a serious question in my mind. Why are there constant attempts to change leadership instead of waiting for the general convention that is due to take place in four months to transfer leadership and choose a new one through an easy path? Do our comrades not have trust over the wisdom of the general convention representatives?” Oli has asked in his paper.

Chairman Oli has also accused Dahal of being a non-transparent and the person believing in deceits and treacheries. He also accused Dahal of breaching various agreements reached between the erstwhile CPN and CPN(Maoist Center) during the election and the party’s unity.
