The visa regulation of foreign nationals will be regulated without any charges including visa fee, late fee and penalty at immigration office, Tribhuvan International Airport at the time of their departure, according to a press statement issued by the Department of Immigration (DoI)
The government had abruptly decided to put the country under lockdown from March 24 shutting down all services except essential ones in order to contain possible spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). As a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Nepal also suspended visa-on-arrival for all foreigners from March 14.
As per the recent decision of the government to ease down the lockdown and resume services, the DOI started providing all its services starting Monday. The DoI will carry out its services in a controlled manner considering the risk of COVID-19 due to excessive crowd of service recipients, said the DOI in the statement.
DOI will issue only non-tourist visas like working, marriage, relation, business, non resident Nepali and others on Wednesday. “Only the foreign nationals opting and eligible for non-tourist visa are requested to apply for visa online and visit DOI with submission ID,” read the statement. It also said that foreign nationals with an appointment scheduled for June 17 for regulation of tourist visas are requested to visit DOI on June 18 with the same application.
