It is said that the revenue collected was more than the target in six months last year. Tax Officer Upadhyaya said that the economy is not dynamic after COVID-19.
Last year i.e. in the fiscal year 2021/22, Rs 70 million more revenue than the target was collected. That is, Rs 329.898 million revenue was collected.
But in the six and a half months of the current year, when the total revenue of Rs 164.881 million was collected, the highest amount of revenue was collected from the income tax title of Rs 109.895 million. Although revenue collection is disappointing, the number of taxpayers seems to be increasing every year. According to the statistics of the office, there are a total of 30,284 voters in three districts.
Khesh Prasad Upadhyaya, tax officer and information officer of the Inland Revenue Office said that the highest number of taxpayers is 14,122 for income tax and the lowest is 217 for WPAN.
