LONDON, May 23: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Paudel has said Buddha's message of peace and non-violence are popular around the world. Born in Nepal, Buddha’s contribution to the welfare of humankind is huge, said the minister at an event organized on Saturday in London on the occasion of the 2566th Buddha Jayanti.
Let’s live in peace and embrace diversity
"I would kindly urge the people's leaders and philosophers of the world to learn from Buddha's philosophy, customs and culture. Bodhi Gyan (enlightenment) attained by Buddha while meditating under a tree after leaving behind his family and house is still universal," he said, adding that we Nepali people are proud that he was born in Nepal. One can get peace and welfare by accepting and following his messages and guidelines, he said.
