Shakya who is said to be a part of the Nepal-led faction in the UML has chosen to stay with the CPN-UML even as Nepal has already applied to the Election Commission for the registration of CPN (Unified Socialist).
"She (Ashtalakshmi Shakya) has become the chief minister as per my wish and suggestions. But now she is in a dilemma over the political party to choose and stay with,” said Nepal. “She will have 21 days to join our party after it is registered. Which party she decides to choose depends on her. But she agreed to become the CM after my permission.”
Leader Nepal said that they were forced to form a new party as they were expelled from the CPN-UML. He also claimed that he has the support of more than 20 percent members in both the Central Committee and the Parliamentary Party Committee of the UML.
