Viral fever grips flood survivors in Banke

KHAJURA  (Banke), Aug 17: An epidemic of viral fever in the flood-hit areas in Banke has further affected the lives of flood survivors. Most people displaced by flooding from Raptisonari, Duduwa, Narainapur and different parts of Khajura Rural Municipality are facing various health problems like fever, diarrhoea and flu.

KHAJURA  (Banke), Aug 17: An epidemic of viral fever in the flood-hit areas in Banke has further affected the lives of flood survivors. Most people displaced by flooding from Raptisonari, Duduwa, Narainapur and different parts of Khajura Rural Municipality are facing various health problems like fever, diarrhoea and flu. 


Following this, the District Public Health Office, Banke has send medial teams to the affected sites, said DPHO Chief Khim Bahadur Khadka, while health camps have been set up in eight affected areas.

Consumption of polluted drinking water is found to be a cause of the disease, he said, while eye problem and skin infection are common among the survivors. So far over 500 patients with the diseases have received treatment, he added. 


Likewise, swollen Rapti River and other various rivers here have affected around 9,500 families in the district. RSS
