KATHMANDU, July 25: Chairman of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) and former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there is a danger that only crony capitalists, bureaucratic capitalists and corrupt people would be elected in the upcoming elections.


Addressing the 9th Memorial Day of Nar Bahadur Karmacharya, a founding member of the Communist Party of Nepal held at the party office in Parisdanda on Monday, Chairman Dahal said that there is a danger that only crony capitalists, bureaucratic capitalists and corrupt people will be elected in the upcoming elections and it is necessary to have a serious discussion among the political parties.

Saying that crony capitalists are spending money in the election, he said that if they cannot spend a lot of money in the election now and apply trickery, it is difficult to win the election.


He mentioned that he had received information that in the local level elections, candidates for the post of rural municipality chairperson spent as much as Rs 100 million and said that the election expenses of the candidates for Member of Parliament in the federal and provincial elections would be more than Rs 1 billion. Chairman Dahal said that it is like just a dream that the working people and revolutionaries will fight and win the elections. He claims that the country's governance system is not suitable for the country.
