Strike disrupts life in Valley

KATHMANDU, June 9: The normal life in the Capital City has been disrupted on Monday due to the nationwide strike enforced by the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist.

KATHMANDU, June 9: The normal life in the Capital City has been disrupted on Monday due to the nationwide strike enforced by the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist.The party has announced the strike for today to ‘protest the government’s suppression on landless squatters’.  


The usually busy roads have donned a deserted look with only a few public and private vehicles plying the road and people are seen walking to their destinations.

Police in large numbers have been deployed at the major thoroughfares of the city to prevent any untoward incident. However, there is no presence of strike enforcers at major roads.
