State-owned FMTC runs online shopping in capital

KATHMANDU, April 8: The state-owned Food Management and Trading Company has started online shopping from Wednesday, secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Baikuntha Aryal said.

KATHMANDU, April 8: The state-owned Food Management and Trading Company has started online shopping from Wednesday, secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Baikuntha Aryal said.


According to him, this service is currently available inside ring road in Kathmandu valley. “The service will be expanded to other areas soon,” he tweeted earlier today.

Anyone can place the order through the official website of the FMTC. According to FMTC, no delivery fee is charged during this lockdown period, however, an order of a minimum of Rs 2000 will only be received. Similarly, the goods will be delivered to the customers within two days of order.


Currently, the FMTC is taking orders of foodstuff including rice and pulses.


With this, the government-owned corporation also joined the race for online shopping in Nepal.
