RANJHA, Nov 1: The border security at the Jamunaha border in Nepalgunj has been tightened further after reports that the Afghan refugees were entering Nepal from India using this border point. 


The security personnel deployed along the border have been asked to maintain high vigilance not to let any Afghani citizen or suspicious person enter the country, according to Surya Khatri, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Banke district.

Stating that a group of Afghan nationals had entered the country by showing a fake Indian Aadhar Card, CDO Khatri said that people will not be allowed to enter Nepal just on the basis of their Adhar card alone. 


He said that security around the Jamunaha border has been heightened further to prevent any Afghan nationals from entering the country. Security personnel have been asked to remain alert in rural areas along the Nepal-India border, according to CDO Khatri. 


According to Min Bahadur Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police at Jamunaha Area Police Post, the security along the border has been tightened as per the instruction received from the District Administration Office, Banke. 


DSP Bista said that the police have also started inspecting the vehicles of Indian travelers. The inspection has been tightened for short-distance vehicles as well as long-distance vehicles along the border.
