BIRATNAGAR, March 2: One of the two chairpersons of the Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that his faction is ready to work together with the Oli-led faction of the party if the latter accepts its mistakes.
Speaking at a press meet organized by Press Sangthan, Morang, in Biratnagar, Nepal who is also a former prime minister said that the door is still open for working together with the Oli-led faction if it admits its mistakes.
Terming the Oli-led faction a "regressive force", Nepal said that the faction, however, has not shown any sign of lamentation yet.

"Prime Minister Oli is not ready to accept his mistakes and regret his regressive move [dissolution of parliament]. Instead, the prime minister is now saying that his life is in danger. If it is really so, we are ready to take initiatives for ensuring his security," he said.
Nepal said that his faction will stand together with other political forces including Nepali Congress (NC) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) who objected to Oli's move.
"We have asked the NC and JSP to come up with their proposals so that we can go together. Otherwise, we have told them to agree to our proposal for the same," leader Nepal said referring to his faction's ongoing attempt to forge an alliance with NC and JSP for the formation of a new coalition government as the Oli-led government is under immense pressure to step down in the wake of the restoration of parliament.
In another context, Nepal said that his faction is ready to discuss and settle all contentious issues including the US-proposed Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) pact.
Leader Nepal said that their faction represents the legitimate NCP since it has the support of a majority of the party's central committee members.
"We have already staked a claim at the Election Commission for the same. Even now, we are ready to provide all evidence to the commission to validate our claims," he said.
