Property worth Rs 2 million gutted in Dadeldhura fire

DADELDHURA, Dec 29: A fire that broke out at a grocery store in Bagbazar, the district headquarters of Dadeldhura, reduced property worth Rs 2 million to ashes on Friday evening, police said.

DADELDHURA, Dec 29: A fire that broke out at a grocery store in Bagbazar, the district headquarters of Dadeldhura, reduced property worth Rs 2 million to ashes on Friday evening, police said.


Deputy Superintendent of Police Dambar Bahadur GC told Republica Online that the fire broke out at Laxmi Kinara store owned by local Narayan Bhatta at around 8:45 pm on Friday in Bagbazar, the main market of the district headquarters.

Owner Bhatta claimed that all the belongings including cosmetic items and foods were gutted in the fire. The fire was brought under control by local residents and personnel of Nepal Police and Nepal Army after two hours.


Adjoining shops were also affected due to the fire, according to locals. The police have yet to ascertain the losses caused by the fire.
