Despite completing her primary education in Kathmandu and pursuing schooling in India, Khatri’s true passion lies in promoting adventure sports in her homeland. After graduating in Mechanical Engineering, she briefly worked in India but felt compelled to return to Nepal and make a meaningful contribution to her country.

In 2016, Khatri embarked on her adventure sports journey with her first trail race in Godavari, completing it in an impressive nine and a half hours. Subsequent races, like the Manaslu Trail Race and Mustang Trail Race, provided invaluable learning experiences, refining her skills in organizing adventure games in challenging mountainous terrains.

In 2019, Khatri established the 'Nepal Trail Series Company,' dedicated to organizing trail races in scenic locations like Bhojpur, Rukum, Rara, and Humla.
