SURKHET, Dec 28: Chief Minister of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has said that policies and programs suitable for the geography of Karnali Province are crucial to expedite development in the country.
He said that it would take time to achieve development and prosperity in Karnali as per the federal program.
Technology has not Defeated Geography
Speaking at a function in Karnali, Chief Minister Shahi said that a program suitable for the development and prosperity of the Himalayan and high hilly regions would be introduced. "According to the national program, the tree planting campaign starts all over Nepal in between mid-June and mid-August. At that time, there is no point in planting trees in the mountainous and high hilly areas of Karnali," said CM Shahi. “Thus, policies and programs that fit the geography should be prepared and implemented.”
He mentioned that, geographically, Karnali is the largest reservoir of natural resources in the country.
