POKHARA, July 11: A delegation headed by Pawan Kumar Prajapati, President of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recently submitted a letter to Bikram Gautam, Director of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal at Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA), demanding a reduction in the parking fees.

The chamber expressed concerns that the current parking fees at PRIA are approximately 21 times higher than those at the old airport, and they find this unjustifiable from any perspective.

Additionally, the chamber requested the implementation of arrangements for greeting and welcoming visitors and guests while ensuring minimal impact on traffic flow. The letter highlighted the chamber's strong interest in the airport as a key stakeholder and emphasized the need for PRIA, a project of national pride, to provide services and facilities that meet international standards.

Recognizing the significance of service quality in winning the hearts of consumers, the chamber stressed the importance of well-organized, affordable, and citizen-friendly parking services at sensitive areas like the airport. The chamber also expressed equal interest in facilitating international flights from PRIA.

In response to the letter, Airport Chief Gautam acknowledged the high parking fees and disclosed that the airport administration is working towards implementing a free or paid bus service to the nearby highway, aiming to enhance convenience for passengers traveling to and from the airport.

President Prajapati led the delegation, which included Senior Vice President Gokarna Karki, General Secretary Balaram Acharya, Treasurer Dinesh Chandra Bastola, and Deputy General Secretary Shobha Gautam.
