DOLAKHA, August 21:Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Maheshwar Neupane reached at the project site of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project on Friday afternoon, following news reports that various groups including the local administration were obstructing the foreign contractor of the project from returning home.
Secretary Neupane reached Lamabagar on Friday with the CDO, DSP and other security personnel after Nagariknews and Republica reported that the administration had obstructed the Chinese company- SinoHydro Corporation, the main contractor of the Tamakoshi project - from leaving the project site along with their belongings, including equipment and machinery used to build the project.

The PMO secretary had come to the district on Thursday. Secretary Neupane will stay at the project residence. He said that he came to the district for government work. "I had come to Dolakha to check the situation in the district, including COVID-19," he told Republica over the telephone. “I have come to the project site to take stock of the situation and updates on the national pride project.”
Neupane also informed Republica that the problems that have arisen even after the completion of the project will be discussed with the management.
Secretary Neupane is accompanied by Chief District Officer Basudev Ghimire, District Police Chief DSP Bhesh Raj Rijal and District Chief of the Armed Police Force Buddhi Narayan Maharjan and other security personnel.
