Professor Dr. Kulprasad Koirala is the incumbent vice-chancellor of Nepal Sanskrit University. Considered well-versed in the oriental philosophy, Professor Koirala argues that if we can promote even a little of oriental philosophy in the world, it will help curb many of social ills.
Coming down heavily on the curriculum used by Nepali universities, Koirala said the Nepali universities failed to produce patriotic, humanitarian and thoughtful citizens due to the influence of western philosophy and lack of proper knowledge of oriental philosophy in the curriculum designers.

Koirala said, were are losing our original attires, age-old cultures and traditions, thereby our own Nepali identity simply because of the wrong curriculum at the universities and suggests that it should be rectified immediately. “The universities of Nepal only produced political cadres but failed to produce saviors of the nation," stated Koirala.
