KATHMANDU, Dec 11: The match between Pokhara Avengers and Biratnagar Kings in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) is to be decided through a super over. West Indies player Raymon Reifer of Pokhara Avengers hit a six on the last ball of their batting innings to take the match to the super over.
Biratnagar, who won the toss and decided to bat at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur in Kirtipur on Thursday, scored 139 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Pokhara Avengers, who entered the field with a target of 140 runs, lost 6 wickets to equalize the score of 139 runs in the 20 overs. Thus, the game reached the super over.
Pokhara Avengers beat Biratnagar Kings in super over
While chasing the target of 140 runs set by Biratnagar, opener Andries Gous added 39 runs for Pokhara, hitting 7 fours in 27 balls. Another opener Dinesh Kharel was dismissed for 11 runs.
Kharel got out after an opening partnership of 47 runs. Both Kharel and Gous were dismissed by Biratnagar left-hander Pratish GC.
Pokhara captain Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed after scoring 31 runs. After he was dismissed by Biratnagar's Chris Cairns, Trit Raj Das was out LBW on the next ball.
