KATHMANDU, Oct 2: Nepal made a cultural presence at the 'World Cultural Festival-2023,' held in the metropolitan area of Washington DC, USA. The festival, spanning from September 29 to October 1, witnessed participation from 180 countries, each showcasing their unique cultural heritage.
Nepal's representation at the festival was a cultural delight, featuring 150 artists ranging in age from 13 to 60 years. They graced the stage, dressed in the traditional attire of their respective communities, presenting seven distinct dances that reflect the diverse tapestry of the Nepali culture.
The richness of Palpa
The choreography for these performances was directed by a dance instructor, Yagyaman Shakya. The cultural team of Nepal received sponsorship from Rajesh Bahadur Pradhan and Niva Mathema Pradhan, further enhancing the nation's presence on the global stage.
This cultural exchange was made possible through the efforts of non-resident Nepalis residing in the United States. Saroj Prajapati, the president of the Nepal Education Cultural Center, played a pivotal role in coordinating the participation of Nepali communities in the event. The Center is dedicated to preserving and promoting Nepali culture among non-resident Nepalis living in America, making this festival an invaluable opportunity to celebrate and share the rich heritage of Nepal with the world.
