KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has collected Rs 0.3 million from donations after the appointment of the new tourism minister.
Newly-appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati had announced that he would not use garlands and bouquets from the day he assumed office as a minister and kept a donation box at the ministry saying he would instead collect aid money and support education in remote areas.

Rajan Rai, the press coordinator of Minister Kirati, said that an estimated Rs 0.3 million have been collected in the donation box kept at the ministry. Minister Kirati added that the money will be used to support education in remote areas.
Likewise, Minister Kirati said that a Facebook page called 'E-Postal Service' has been launched for collecting suggestions and public complaints. (RSS)
