Ministers discuss taking action against those charging high fees

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel and Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand discussed the issue of taking action against the educational institutions charging more than the fee prescribed by the Medical Education Commission.

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel and Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand discussed the issue of taking action against the educational institutions charging more than the fee prescribed by the Medical Education Commission.


A discussion was held this evening on the issue of taking legal action after the decision reached between the National Medical Education Commission, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Kathmandu Medical College, Nobel Medical College, parents and students was not implemented.

During the discussion, Minister Poudel said that the Ministry of Education was in favor of the students and urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide necessary facilities to solve the problems of the agitating students.


In response, Home Minister Khand said that the ministry was also in favor of the students and pledged to respond to the issue by immediately taking stock of the situation through CDOs of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Morang districts.
