KATHMANDU, Dec 23: A meeting of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal is currently underway at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar.
The two parties in the ruling alliance are engaged in negotiation to forge consensus to form a new government as the time given by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to form a government with a majority vote is approaching.
Deuba, Dahal, Nepal meet at Baluwatar
The meeting is expected to discuss in detail to finalize a power-sharing deal between the two parties. President Bhandari has given time to the parties till 5 pm on December 25.
While Maoist Center Chairman Dahal has demanded formation of new government under his leadership, NC President Deuba has expressed readiness to give Dahal the prime ministerial berth while keeping the post of President with the NC.
