Inmates held in police custody due to lack of jail building in Humla

The old jail is reportedly completely dilapidated, and the tender process for a new building has just begun. The inmates are therefore being held in rooms meant for initial police custody. There are two rooms each for men and women. One is meant for the initial police custody and the other for after the court's verdict. Harihar Khadka, information officer of the jail, stated that the jail had no women inmates and it would create complications if one were to arrive. He also informed that two inmates had just been transferred to Banke district's jail.
