Leopard disrupts domestic flights at TIA

KATHMANDU, April 3: Domestic flights  have  been closed for half an hour at Tribhuvan International Airport(TIA) after a leopard  was seen moving on the runway.


Pilot of Buddha Air had informed ATC at TIA of the movement of leopard on the runway at 8 am .

The leopard has not been found yet despite the painstaking effort to search for it  that immediately began after it was seen.


“It is yet to be confirmed whether the animal is a leopard. The pilot of Buddha Air informed us that he saw a leopard-like animal on the runway. We have called Forest Office officials” said TIA Spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur.


A team of hunters including police personnel are searching for the animal.
